30 songs that you are probably sick of

Hello darlings.
So it's December again, the month when we start to mentally prepare for a new year. It's also the time to take a moment and think of everything we've accomplished this year and to think back of all the beautiful moments we have lived in 2014.
Well, December, it's also the month when we review all sorts of things that happened along the year, so obviously, I am here to review all those songs that you used to like, but now I'm sure you hate, because they were played on and on on the radio, and now everybody is sick of them.
2014 was a year filled with hits which broke record after record and at the same time, 2014 became the YEAR OF THE BOOTY, so naturally, this year we moved on from "Blurred Lines" to "My anaconda don't / My anaconda don't / My anaconda don't want none unless you got buns, hun".
Anyway here is the top with the most listened songs in 2014:

30. "Black Widow" - Iggy Azalea ft. Rita Ora
29. "Break Free" Ariana Grande ft. Zedd
28. "Hideaway" - Kiesza
27. "Loyal" - Chris Brown , Lil Wayne
26. "Animals" - Maroon 5
25. "Flawless" - Beyonce
24. "All Of Me" - John Legend
23. "#SELFIE" - The Chainsmokers
22. "Summer" - Calvin Harris
21. "Boom Clap" - Charli XCX
20. "Drunk in Love" - Beyonce
19. "Habits" - Tove Lo
18. "Thinking Out Loud" - Ed Sheeran
17. "This Is How We Do" - Katy Perry
16. "Turn Down for What" - DJ Snake, Lil John
15.  "Stay With Me" - Sam Smith
14. "Dark Horse" - Katy Perry
13. "Bailando" - Enrique Iglesias
12. "Bang Bang" - Jessie J, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj
11. "Happy" - Pharell Williams

10. "Let It Go" - Idina Menzel
Well, I'm pretty sure everyone with access to internet has seen "Frozen" by now and I'm pretty sure, no matter your age, you know the lyrics to "Let It Go" by heart - don't try to deny it! What it's special about this Disney movie is that it didn't became an obsession only for the little ones, but even grown up adults are crazy about it. So obviously the soundtrack of the film became pretty popular as well, having hundreds of covers made by fans on YouTube. "Let It Go" has even won an Oscar for "Best Original Song".

9. "Problem" - Ariana Grande ft. Iggy Azalea
2014 was definitely Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea's year. Each singer had more than 2 hits in the international charts and both have collaborated with big names from the music industry including Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Rita Ora and many others. Ariana practically owned 2014 by winning numerous awards, performing at the White House .. twice and releasing her second album "My Everything" which became No.1 album in the US.

8. "Rude" - MAGIC!
"MAGIC!" weren't really that famous last December when they released "Rude", but their mega-hit won our hearts for good. Just before we realised it, the lyrics were already stuck in our heads. The catchy song became a hit, so naturally, it was played continuously on the radio all summer... and there's no sign this will end anytime soon. But we don't care that much cause it's a beautiful song and we like it, so well done "MAGIC!".

7. "Chandelier" - Sia
The Australian singer - songwriter has definitely had one of the biggest hits of 2014. "Chandelier" was Sia's first no. 1 on the US Dance Club Play chart. Its video features 12-year-old dancer, Maddie Ziegler, who impressed everyone with her amazing talent, leading to numerous parodies on the internet. The 39-year-old singer also collaborated with Eminem this year, on his single "Guts Over Fear" aaaand she also got married this year. So 2014 was a big year for Sia.

6. "Wiggle" - Jason Derulo ft. Snoop Dogg
After all the craziness with "Talk dirty to me" that happened last year, Jason Derulo released yet another catchy song, featuring Snoop Dogg this time. His hit was played so many times on the radio, that everybody knew how to sing "Wiggle wiggle wiggle / Just a little bittle". But despite it's popularity, "Wiggle" failed to impress everyone and it ended up being named one of the 10 worst songs of 2014 by Time (ouch!). 2014 is also the year when Mr. Derulo broke up with girlfriend Jordin Sparks... by phone. (rude!)

5. "Shake It Off" - Taylor Swift
Now, we all know that Taylor Swift was the absolute star of 2014, so obviously her year was a very busy one: Taylor reinvented herself  and she released her first official pop album, "1989" which broke tens of records, she served as an advisor for contestants on The Voice, she played in a movie called "The Giver", she performed ... once again at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and she became pretty much the queen of social media. Jeez, what a year! Her hit "Shake It Off" was only the beginning of her success in 2014.

4. "Fancy" - Iggy Azalea ft. Charli XCX
First thing's first Iggy and Charli are the realest... and everybody knows that. Like I said earlier, this was Iggy's year: from feuds with different celebrities like Snoop Dogg to mega hits (e.g. "Fancy" which reached no. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart aaaand "Problem" which reached no. 2 on the SAME DAY - say whaaaaat ?!). Other achievements of hers from 2014 were hits like "Booty" - a collaboration with Jennifer Lopez and "Black Widow" - featuring Rita Ora.

3. "Anaconda" - Nicki Minaj
When I said that 2014 was the year of the booty I actually meant it. I just told you that Jenny "from the block" and Iggy Azalea (2 singers with big big booties) released a song called "Booty" so 2014=booty. But this is not even the biggest statement of the year regarding "THE BOOTY", no no, that was "Anaconda" by Nicki Minaj. If you don't believe me, just try to watch the video from the beginning to the end. Biiiiiiiig boooooooooties, big booties everywhere... that's all I'm sayin'. Oh and also Drake.(P.S.: I think I've used the word "booty" too many times - sorry, not sorry)

2. "Blank Space" - Taylor Swift
Considering that "Shake It Off" wasn't enough of T. Swizzle for 2014, she released another single, which I may say, is a masterpiece. Oh and the video... God have mercy! Olivia Benson appears in the video, I mean she is only the most famous cat of them all, who even cares about the hot models that also appear in the video when there's cute Olivia and Taylor Swift stabbing a cake?! With "Blank Space" Taylor Swift managed to become the first female artist to succeed herself as no. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

1. "All About That Bass" - Meghan Trainor
This year our number one it's nothing like the last year's "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus. This no. 1 it's catchy, inspirational and we love it. But apparently not everyone agrees with us, since critics accused Meghan of shaming thin women. The song was originally offered to Beyonce but she turned it down, so Meghan decided to record it herself. It has since been covered by famous singers including Justin Bieber, Michael Buble and Emblem3. "All About That Bass" inspires with self-empowering lyrics and it's all about loving your own body. The song became one of the best-selling singles of all time. Way to go, Meghan!!

So this was top 30 songs that I'm sure you loved at some point, but now you are pretty sick of them.

Until next time ... I'm watching you
xoxo
