Hello gorgeous people,
So, as you may already know, last night literally, and I'm not kidding, like seriously every celebrity who's on the crest of a wave at the moment has attended the Met Gala, also known as Anna Wintour's very glamorous party or the biggest night in fashion.
Honestly, this is the only event that is serious competition for The Oscars. The gala was held, as every year, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and this year's theme was "China: Through the Looking Glass". As expected hundreds of guests walked the red carpet in the most fashionable outfits, obviously some of them were marked as fails... but that only gives us something to talk about, am I right?
Now there are a couple of celebrities, who's appearance I just can't help but talk about:
Firstly, I want to talk about Sarah Jessica Parker. The famous actress is known as a pretty fashionable presence, but the "out there" outfits ae no stranger to her either. For example this... accessory ~maybe?~... she wore last night: the freakin UFO on her head has drawn attention from the first step she took on that carpet. TBH, I can't really comprehend what this "hat" is supposed to represent...like, fire or some sort of flower? Oh art.. sometimes you just can't understand it, can you? Except for the.. uhmm.. thing on her had, that also looks pretty heavy, SJP looked absolutely amazing.
Second on my list is, Rihanna. If last year, actress Katie Holmes felt the need to express her love for "Beauty and the Beast", this year Rihanna felt inspired by the Disney princess Belle. I must admit, her appearance was glorious, and it had a little bit of a royal-ish allure, but I can't help to say that from some angles, her cape looked like a very big and very yellow duvet (maybe it was just lighting... damn you paparazzi with your flashes, ugh. Nonetheless, Rihanna managed a magnifique entrance, turning heads and looking absolutely majestic. I just wonder how long did it take her to climb those stairs, in that thing.
Probably the biggest surprise of the event, was Beyonce. It hurts me to say, but her outfit was one of the worst from the gala... I had faith in you, B., and you disappointed me, big time. Her outfit, looked trashy, and the type of dress that attention seeking women would wear. I can't believe that a women who respects herself and is a mother would wear this very very sheer dress. I get all that confidence boosting thing, but if you ask me, a self-proclaimed feminist should inspire young girls with brains and talent not with nakedness. She is an amazing singer and a very beautiful woman, I simply don't get her attitude, the need of impressing through a bare bum rather than trough simplicity and naturalness. It's actually sad that so called feminist are promoting this kind of image.
Alright, that been said, here are the rest of the stars who attended the "oh, so fab" event:
So, that was pretty much all from this year's Met Gala. My personal favourites, as regarding the outfits, were Hailee Steinfeld, Ellie Goulding, Carey Mulligan and Sophie Turner.
PS: I just want to put it out there, that, even though I am not a fan and I don't appreciate very much her style, Kim Kardashian looked pretty amazing, as compared to other outfits she has worn. Oh, and also, Justin Bieber cleaned up nicely, he looked quite dapper.
PPS: Why does Miley Cyrus look like a zombie and why does Anne Hathaway wear a hood? WTF?
Until the next time ... I'm watching you,
xoxo
